TWO-DAY TRAINING ORGANIZED FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF JEZERO
As part of the project “FireSafe Jezero: Comprehensive Landscape Fire Prevention and Education Initiative”, a two-day professional training was organized for employees of the Municipality of Jezero, as well as for representatives of public institutions and other legal entities operating within the municipality. The training was held on 24 and 25 November 2025 in the premises of the municipal administration.

The goal of the two-day training was to strengthen the capacity of local institutions for the prevention and management of open-space fire risks. During the first day, participants became acquainted with the basic causes of fire occurrence, risk assessment, leading international and local prevention practices, and the role of institutions within the protection and rescue system.
The second day focused on deepening the acquired knowledge through case studies, practical examples, and discussions on response procedures, coordination of competent services, and the importance of timely and proper intervention. Special emphasis was placed on the impact of climate change on increasing fire risks and on the need for continuous improvement of local protocols.
The training was delivered by representatives of the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, who highlighted the importance of regular education and interinstitutional cooperation in strengthening long-term community safety and resilience.
The organizers emphasized that the two-day training was highly successful and represents a solid foundation for continuing the activities within the FireSafe Jezero project, whose ultimate goal is to improve the preparedness of the municipality and all relevant stakeholders for fire prevention and fire risk management in the future.
