EDUCATION WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN HELD WITHIN THE “FIRESAFE JEZERO” PROJECT
On Tuesday, 25 November 2025, an educational workshop for students was held at the “Vuk Karadžić” Primary School in Jezero as part of the project “FireSafe Jezero: Comprehensive Landscape Fire Prevention and Education Initiative.” The workshop was organized with the aim of raising children’s awareness of the importance of fire prevention and proper behaviour in risky situations.

Through interactive lectures, discussion, and practical examples, students learned how open-space fires occur, why they are dangerous, and how their actions can help prevent such incidents. Special emphasis was placed on safe behaviour in nature, during excursions, and when spending time near forested areas.
Representatives of the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska delivered age-appropriate presentations using visual materials and short demonstrations to make the topics easier to understand and more engaging. The children actively participated by asking questions and sharing their own experiences.
This educational activity represents an important component of the FireSafe Jezero project, which aims to strengthen the resilience of the local community to fire risks through the education of the youngest, as well as through the involvement of schools, teachers, and parents in preventive efforts.
The organizers emphasized that similar workshops will continue in the coming period, so that as many students as possible can acquire essential knowledge about fire safety and the role of young people in protecting the community.
