ALLERSHIELD AND CIRCLEAWARE PROJECTS PRESENTED AT THE FIRESAFE JEZERO WORKSHOPS
During the workshops organized within the project “FireSafe Jezero: Comprehensive Landscape Fire Prevention and Education Initiative,” participants were introduced to two ongoing cross-border projects implemented under the Interreg HR–BA–ME programme: AllerShield and CircleAware.

The presentation of these projects aimed to promote good practices, encourage the exchange of experiences, and highlight the broader regional importance of environmental protection, risk management, and strengthening the resilience of local communities.
The AllerShield project focuses on an integrated approach to monitoring environmental allergens, improving early warning systems, and developing research and educational tools for better management of risks associated with aeroallergens. Its results have a significant impact on public health, which is recognized as an important element in the context of climate change.
The CircleAware project is oriented toward circular economy principles, raising awareness about sustainable resource management, and improving local systems for waste disposal and reuse. Its activities promote responsible behaviour among citizens and institutions, as well as the development of greener practices at the regional level.
Participants of the FireSafe Jezero workshops emphasized that the presented projects substantially contribute to a better understanding of interconnected challenges—from protecting public health and the environment to enhancing preparedness for risks arising from climate change. This presentation demonstrated the importance of an integrated, cross-border approach to addressing modern environmental and safety challenges.
The organizers highlighted that they will continue networking with similar initiatives to further strengthen the outcomes of the FireSafe Jezero project through collaboration and knowledge exchange at the regional level.
